Summer Rose Reviews

Anthony
Summer Rose is a lovely well positioned house, 2 minutes walk from Craster harbour. It was lovely and clean and exceptionally well stocked with an everything you will need for your stay. The darling area is a sun trap and an ideal book reading spot. Crater has a cafe, a pub and an art gallery plus beautiful costal walks. We had Sunday lunch in the Cottage Inn, in Dunston. Its the best Sunday lunch I can remember having. The running fox cafe in Longhoughton is worth a visit also. We have already started planning our next visit. Highly recommended.
This was a very nice property located less than 5 mins walk from Craster Harbour The layout of the property is upside down, so all the bedrooms & main bathroom were downstairs and upstairs is the open plan kitchen, diner & lounge Bedroom wise, there are 3 large bedrooms 1 with ensuite and 1 single room with a bunkbed that has 2 singles All the mattresses are Emma mattresses which are a premium mattress so were very comfortable! Bathroom was spacious, the water pressure in the shower and heat from the shower were superb! The kitchendinerlounge was a very good size and very suitable for a family! Would stay here again!
Great accomodation, light, airy, well equipped, clean. New decking area is a real sun trap Literally a minutes walk from the harbour. Just a lovely house in a lovely place what's not to like ?
This was our third time staying at Summer Rose, the location is perfect being so central to the harbour, Robson's fish shop, Shoreline Cafe and The Jolly Fisherman pub as well as close to the start of the fabulous walk to Dunstanburgh Castle. The accommodation is really clean and tidy, has everything you need and has a neat enclosed garden with garden furniture. The layout of the house is perfect, the large open plan area with spectacular views is so lovely to relax in and watch the coming and goings outside. We will be booking again!

Beautiful house and we loved spending the week there. Small negatives include no airer to dry washing on which would save the owner a lot of money with electricity bills. The ironing board was broken. Next to no cupboards to keep any food etc in and the stairs were very dangerous for little ones as they could stand on sofa and lean over the tops of the stairs making it so dangerous should they lean over to far and fall straight over. I accidentally broke something and let the owner know he in turn was lovely about it. This will not put us off booking again as the whole experience was A. Thank you for providing so much ie toilet rolls, bin bags, foil etc.
This property is in a great location, very close to the village centre and walking routes and has the added bonus of being on a private road with just 5 other properties. The livingdining area is very bright and spacious with a well equipped kitchen. Bedrooms are big enough for a comfortable weeks stay. We would definitely stay again.
Beautifully presented house with well stocked kitchen. Home from home. Plenty of seating for everyone to relax after daily walking and beachcombing. Good base to stay local or travel further afield. Beds are very comfortable and heating can be adjusted. We found it a very warm house as it is energy efficient. Would stay again.

We have just had a wonderful week at Summer Rose. We chose the house because of its location as we know the area well and are frequent visitors to Northumberland, third time this year ! We were not disappointed . The house was spotless , beautifully presented and the upside down layout suited us perfectly.Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was available and we were genuinely sorry to leave at the end of the week .

Nice place in a great location.
The property is perfectly positioned to see beautiful Craster and has all the facilities that you need. Having 2 parking spaces and it being dog friendly is ideal. The house is very clean and tidy and the layout is just right. Cannot fault this place, we stayed there last year too and will be booking for next year.
Superb property and location. Comfy beds well stocked kitchen. Ideal home from home will be back.
A lovely modern house in an excellent location. The sea view from upstairs is great. Very good for coastal walks.

A beautiful place to stay, with a view out over the North sea from the upstairs lounge window. Facilities were excellent and it was a great base from which to explore the delights of Northumbria, Embleton, Alnmouth, Alnwick, Dunstanborough Castle and Warkworth to name a few. TV a little complicated to work and connection fees associated with some of the more popular channels Amazon Prime and Netflix for example, but other than that a lovely, warm and comfortable place to stay.
A lovely house on the beautiful Northumbrian coast. Very clean and well kitted out. We loved being able to walk to the beach the house is nice and private but in easy reach of everything. We would love to come back to Summer Rose soon!
Antony
A lovely clean property in a fantastic location. Fully equipped and we all enjoyed it and would return.

We love staying at Summer Rose, this is third time we have stayed, the house is always immaculately clean when we arrive and has everything we need for our holiday. My two young children love the bunk room with TV and watching the waves from the lounge. Craster is a fantastic village, we enjoyed the walks to the castle, obviously going to the Jolly Fisherman again and lots of dog walks on the beaches. This is house is a perfect base for a family based holiday in the North East, we would definitely recommend it to all.
The welcome pack wasnt as advertised, other than that a fabulous place to stay & hopefully will be back
Adrian
Lovely house, with views of the harbour from the living area windows. Well equipped kitchen, complimentary dog treats were a nice touch. The beds are very comfortable and the garden was well kept and a nice place to relax after a busy day sightseeing.
Rachel
We had a great holiday. The house was a home from home and the location was perfect!
Tracey
We all had a fantastic time at house. Very comfortable. Brilliant for the dogs as fully enclosed garden. The only thing lacking was better outdoor furniture to sit in the sun. Also would definitely NOT recommend The Jolly Fisherman for dinner as was pure rip off. Brilliant location for fantastic walks . House well equipped
House was as expected, biggest let down of the week was no fault against the owner but the generator running full time on the street outside the close, was a small nightmare, you could hear it, even though closed windows which it was way too hot for and you could feel it vibrating as well, whilst laid in bed at night, you lost the quietness of the remote village we were after. Previous bookings had gone off with the Amazon Alexa device, kitchen soap and had put away dirty oven trays which was disappointing, but the house was well stocked with everything else and clean. We also had the madness of a film crew taking over the village for most of the week 7am6pm, with road closures, coaches of extras, drums, morris dancers, and fire etc, it was quite entertaining.
Malcolm
A lovely well maintained property in an excellent location. Plenty of thought gone into making your stay as comfortable as possibleplenty of kitchen utensils , games for entertainment etc. Would definitely recommend for both adults and families alike.

An amazing property, wonderfully located in Craster, with great views out towards the sea. The house is a great base for visiting other parts of Northumberland, we always finished our day off with dinner at the Jolly Fisherman which is lovely and very dog friendly. The house itself was really well equipped we were a party of 8 and my youngest two loved the bunk beds. TVs in every room, comfy beds and sofas and nicely decorated, like a home from home really. Thank you for the welcome pack, its always nice to arrive to some Prosecco. We will definitely be back in the summer. Thank you
Craster is our favourite location in Northumberland, and Summer Rose is positioned perfectly in the village. The house was very clean and well presented with everything we needed for our family New Year stay. A view of the Harbour and sea from the Living Room window, and a 2 minute walk to the centre of the village was a perfect setting. We will definateley be returning to Summer Rose.
People with dogs should be told there is only one exit in the house and that is through the patio doors of the double bedroom. So a mat would be good when it is wet outside. You can go out the front door and go through the side gate. Also had to report that the centre of the microwave was missing, so this stopped the plate from revolving. This was reported at the time.
Due to illness my wife and I were unable to go However our daughter and partner dog did They were very pleased with SUMMER ROSE and really enjoyed their holiday. All being well will book again for 2023 A big THANK YOU to the property owner and your staff for the service provided William 'Tim' Wildermoth Will you please note the following 2 problerms Fan in the ensuite not working Rotary clothes line in garden broken
A very comfortable upside down house,as my wife called it. Lovely view of the sea through the top right hand side window..The sellers have thought of everything you need for a comfortable family vacation. We hope to stay again in the not so distant future.thank you.
We had a lovely stay in Summer Rose in Craster. The close proximity to the harbour make this an ideal spot to enjoy the rock pools and the gorgeous walk to Dunstanborough Castle. The house was ideal for the five of us two adults, two children under twelve and our cockapoo. We would love to come again thank you.
A very comfortable property in an excellent location.
Very well presented and comfortable accommodation. Everything felt bright, airy, fresh and clean. We were impressed by the quality of the fittings and how well the house was equipped. Everything we could possibly want was there. The location was perfect for exploring the Northumberland coast. Thank you!
Abigail
Wow, what an incredible property, the owners have gone to every effort to make this a comfortable stay. We loved the open plan upstairs, which was great for family meals and lazy days on the super comfy sofas, with great views out towards the sea. Huge amount of board games, quality mattresses which you dont usually get in holiday homes. I could go on. Craster is an amazing location for families, the Jolly Fisherman was fabulous and there are so many places to explore on the coast which the owners left information on. Highly recommended to all and we will definitely be back.
Heather

Beautiful house with all you need and in a wonderful location. I would highly recommend it!
Summer Rose is a beautiful house comfortable & well stocked for self catering & minutes from the harbour at Craster. Lovely walk along the cliff top to Embleton beach. Short drive to Beadnell beach & Bamburgh. All the beaches are stunning. Interesting for kids of all ages, rock climbing & rock pooling. Great play park minutes from the house in Craster is great for kids of all ages with a football pitch alongside. We will definitely return.
Great facilities and location would love to come again
Stephen
Fantastic location, great house, highly recommended.
Edward
Lights in bedroom could be improved for reading we were a bit worried about bumping in to canopy over cooker bigger dessert and serving spoons needed. Butt overall excellent
What a wonderful location this house is in. The house its self is perfect for family and friends. Everything you could want or need is already there waiting for you including a few extras from the owners that was really thoughtful. Everything is tastefully furnished and all the rooms feel light and airy. Bbq was an added bounce as was the washing machine. Being dog friendly made it a real winner. The location to the village is seconds and a bus stop right opposite the turning which can take you along the coast to local villages and then a lovely walk home along the coast. If I get my way we will be returning in the not to distant future. Thank you Summer Rose for a memorable first visit to Northumberland.
