Great place to stay and relax, we used the hot tub every evening , nice views , would book again when we are in the area

We had a truly relaxing stay at Wagtail Nest. The cottage is beautiful, comfortable, and set in a peaceful spot with lovely views that made each morning feel special. It was exactly the kind of break we were hoping for. Our dog, Freddie absolutely loved having the paddock to play in and spent ages watching the birds and the sheep in the field across the road . The whole place has a calm, welcoming feel, and we left feeling refreshed and very grateful for such a lovely stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, quiet, and a touch of countryside charm.

This is our 2nd visit and despite the weather, we loved it just as much. The cottage has everything you need, its so peaceful, surrounded by farmland. So close to Scarborough, Pickering, North York Moors, Dalby Forest etc you are spoilt for choice. After a long walk, the jacuzzi is the best to relax in. We didn't want to come home.

Brilliant place to stay. Quiet area on farm. Perfect area for large dog to run around a private horse paddock. Paul perfect hoist guidance in area walks, pubs restaurants. Perfect area for walks very close to forest walks. Relaxing area just listening to birds and animals while in hot tub. All facilities inside cottage. Perfect place to stay will go again to do rest of forest walks and lunches . Thankyou Paul .

We spent a wonderful relaxing week at this delightful little cottage. Everything was perfect for us. The welcome basket was such a thoughtful touch, and Paul our host was so friendly and helpful.The hot tub was ready for us when we arrived and a very welcome addition to our holiday. Our dog loved the dog paddock which was secure and surrounded by fields of sheep and beautiful views. We will certainly return.Thank you Paul for a very enjoyable break.

On the arrival day we had to phone Paul becuase we could not find the property. He came out of his house and we could see him so we were not far away. Paul came in with us and showed us round and how everything worked which was brilliant. Great location for us and the hot tub was an added bonus

Everything about the cottage was perfect. The hot tub was great. The owner Paul greeted us on arrival to make sure everything was okay,then left us to it. Such a lovely area lots to see and do. Would highly recommend this cottage.

Very nice little place. Just like the pictures, nice countryside surrounding. Hot tub is a very nice touch and our greyhound also had a great time here. Very close to Scarborough.

We stayed last October and gave the place an absolutely glowing review, we stayed last week and well. .......... it was still just as wonderful. Location, accommodation, cleanliness, hot tub everything was brilliant. As always Paul was helpful and lovely, cheers for a great week mate. My only slight gripe was the bed was too firm for us and meant we didn't sleep as well as we'd hoped but obviously that's a personal thing, some prefer a firmer mattress. Will we stay again? You betcha.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Wagtail nest. It was clean and well presented and very comfortable. The hot tub was a real bonus. The location of the property is perfect for exploring all the main towns and villages. There are great pubs and lovely tea rooms close by. We had a lovely time! We have stayed at the cottage twice now and it has been great both times. It is clean, cosy and comfortable. We love the hot tub as well! The location is great, with lovely countryside views. We would definitely recommend and we already want to come back a third time!

We had a lovely stay in this comfy little cottage. Beautiful views over the fields, the most amazing hot tub. Great heating, which we needed at the beginning of the stay storm Amy but certainly not once the weather warmed up. Great welcome pack for when we arrived. Paul was great, there if needed but just let us get on with our week. Everything you would hope for in a week away.

Paul is really friendly and it's obvious a great deal of time and money was spent on the cottage. The furnishings were lovely, he even left milk and a bottle of Prosrcco. We are already looking at coming back next year

The cottage is home from home. We felt settled immediately. We received a warm welcome from Paul, the owner. There were bird feeders in the garden and we loved watching the birds and identifying them. It was so restful & peaceful. It was peace to come back to after a day out.

A perfect, relaxing place to get away from everything. Ideal for the 2 of us and our reactive GSD. A lovely welcome basket of treats for dogs and humans much appreciated. We had an amazing week! The cottage is ideally situated to explore all over North Yorkshire. We loved the hot tub! Everything you could wish for in a holiday cottage we can't wait to return!

Had a fabulous week here, a lovely welcome basket awaited our arrival full of goodies for ourselves as well as our dog. Everything you need in this lovely quiet spot.The hot tub is amazing, the garden is small but still big enough for a table and 2 chairs to enjoy the sunshine.There is a lovely paddock to exercise your dogs in.Despite being next door to the owners you never hear them, but they are available if you have any enquiries. Lovely place to explore the surrounding countryside and parks. We were lucky enough to see deer ,owls and bats. The only downfall is that it's a double rather than a kingsize bed, but that hasn't put us off as we have already booked to return next year. A great place to distress and chill out.

Wagtail cottage provided an excellent base for us to visit Scarborough, Filey, Whitby and other local spots and being a couple of miles from the nearest village gave us a quiet and peaceful break which we wanted, Also the privacy the cottage gave made it easy to relax in the hot tub at the end of the day with views of rolling fields and distant bleats of sheep could not have been better, All rooms were perfect and clean with a well equipped kitchen. Paul was friendly and welcoming and made a nice fuss of our little dog, I would not hesitate to book this accommodation again. Thanks again.

The owner made us feel very welcome. It's only a personal preference the mattress was a bit soft for us otherwise perfect.

This is a beautiful little cottage, we've stayed here twice before and would definitely be back again. Just perfect!!!

This small cottage was perfect for our last minute winter break with our dog. Everything that we needed was there. Host was friendly and attentive if needed. Hot tub was great, and the cottage decor cosy and relaxing. Would advise arriving in daylight as the local area signal wasnt great, and affected Sat nav phone maps etc but the cottage is obvious from the road. Lovely stay and will go back as fantastic base for exploring Yorkshire coastline

Had a wonderful stay over New Year. The cottage is warm and cosy, and after some wonderful daytime walks coming back to the hot tub was the finishing touch!! Enjoyed the cottage and exploring the area so much we have already booked our return visit which we do rarely!.

Absolutely fantastic. Was greeted with such a lovely warming of different treats. It was so very clean when we go there. Beautiful little house and perfect for a little getaway. I could not fault this place at all, in such a nice quiet location aswell.

Wagtail nest is compact but perfectly formed. We had everything we needed, and when we were a bit lost, the owner was happy to give us further directions. He also popped by to say if there was anything to just let him know! There were treats in the property when we arrived which was really sweet, and it was very dog friendly.

The cottage was perfect and had everything we needed for our short break. Paul met us on arrival and checked in to make sure everything was good. The location is perfect for exploring local areas, Robin Hoods Bay and Scarborough are just short drives away. We spent a day exploring the trails from the different parking areas on the side of the road, also highly recommend the walk down to Hayburn Wyke Waterfall. Lots of dog friendly pubs in the local villages to eat at. The cottage is cozy to come back to after a day walking. There was a little hamper on arrival including dog treats. And finally the hottub was the perfect end to a day exploring! We had a brilliant stay and will definitely return, thank you!

Lovely little place, but wasn't exactly clean in the bathroom. Toothpaste still on the sink and pink bacteria and mould in the shower. And thick grime under the shower tap that wiped off easily. Dust webs a plenty in the open plan kitchenfrontroom, and the bedroom and the kitchen sink had an orange rim round it from the last person who had washed up. Had to clean all this before I could relax. The bed needs a new mattress as its like sleeping on a piece of plywood and didn't have a mattress protector on it. And the pillow protectors were stained needed a wash. Lovely place with lovely views, but just needs a proper clean between guests.

Lovely property with everything you could possibly need! Brilliant location, comfortable bed, super clean, hot tub was wonderful and the secure garden was even small dog secure no gaps! Lovely host who showed us around the property and made us feel welcome. Would stay here again and have already recommended to family. 1010
