Yew Tree Cottage Reviews

A truly beautiful, comfortable and restful cottage, all you could wish for. Very off the beaten track, so go prepared with everything you'll need for self catering and your bathroom needs hand soap and toilet roll provided. Absolutely highlight was the hot tub. Bliss after a day of walking in the Lakes. Fabulous place. Hope to visit again some time.
Stunning cottage & a lot more spacious than it looks in the photos. Has a really lovely stay. Cottage in a lovely remote location with plenty nearby if you want to drive but also plenty of stunning walks on your doorstep if you dont want to move the car which we didnt all week. The hottub was a lovely treat at end of a long walk and we had a couple of really clear nights for great star gazing! We thoroughly our stay in the cottage & would highly recommend.
Fabulous, once again enjoyed a great stay at Yew Tree. Everything you would expect and more. Beautiful part of the Lakes.

Absolutely amazing, both cottage and location! As another holiday maker said, the photos do not do the cottage or location justice. Cottage was spotless and had everything we needed and more. A very peaceful fortnights stay. Lovely and peaceful, but maybe the road would not please everyone!! We live in a rural location so didn't bother us. Hot tub very relaxing end to each day. Would love to return one day.
An excellent property. We loved our stay. Very relaxing.
Rachel
A lovely property. Perfect for our stay. We loved the peace and quiet haven't slept so well for a long time.

A truly special place for a wonderful week in the Lakes. The photos don't do justice to the size and quality of the cottage and its furnishings. Little touches such as beautiful light fittings and the raised little seating area with views across the rolling hills really elevate the experience. Although the main central and southern sites of the Lakes are within easy reach, I'd recommend leaving the car at the cottage and walking out to Tover to take in a circular around Kelly Tarn and over to Connistion. Also another walk south west from the cottage and east around and up to Green Moor Beck. Sunday roast at Wilson Arms in Tover is incredibly tasty.
Fantastic cottage with fantastic location. Our week away was helped by the weather but being regular Lakes visitors over many years we know it was a bonus. Standard was high, Couldnt fault anything. Lovely to have lots of different animals nearby too. If I could suggest one thing certainly is not a criticism perhaps the addition of an air fryer would be useful. We brought ours with us. Many people use the convenience of them now. But the hot tub, whirlpool bath, rainfall shower and 4 poster bed were luxury which made us book for next year. Its that nice. We never stay at the same place twice as we enjoy trying other places so that explains how good Yew Tree Cottage is. So happy with our stay.
Perfect for a couple and two small dogs. Stunning views from the garden and private hot tub which isnt overlooked. Really great value stay with everything youd need.
A little home from home with all you could need fridgefreezer, washing machine and cooking utensils. A lovely hot tub to soak away the strains of the day. Wifi is intermittent but hey who needs to constantly go online when away from home. Bed is comfy but maybe the sofa needs replacing not a great height for the tv or that comfy. We had snowfall that froze over so getting up and down the lane wasn't easy for us being in a van we had little space either side which normally would be ok, but when icy could be a tad iffy. We stayed put for a few days with our provisions and when ice started to melt and after hubby had done some chipping of the major icy areas and had put some grit down we were ok to leave. All in all though a great little place to stay

Amazing secluded cottage. Booked for my partners 30th as a surprise and we were both blown away with the amenities, the views and the peace. Plenty of lovely walks around and a lovely village not too far with a very friendly pub. Both us and our dog Luna had the most amazing weekend even if she hated the peasants!

Yew tree cottage was beautiful, spotlessly clean and in the most peaceful location, we would definitely visit again and recommend anyone wanting a lovely peaceful holiday choose this location. The hot tub was a bonus on a warm evening and the property owners ensured it was kept immaculately clean.
This was our second time at Yew Tree Cottage and hopefully we will be returning. Such a lovely setting and the cottage as before was very comfortable and provided everything we could need. A very relaxing cottage to unwind in after many long walks with our dog.

Very well placed to explore the Lake District. Beautifully appointed!! The hot tub was a really relaxing end to the day! Hospitality of the hosts was hugely appreciated. They were so very helpful when we had a crisis with our car! In all an absolutely superb relaxing holiday!
Fantastic cottage. Really clean and tidy. Plenty of space and the hot tub was brilliant. Very peaceful. No phone signal and only WiFi in the bedroom wasnt an issue for us. Brilliant views. Would 100 stay again. Thanks
The cushions on the settee did move forward and needed resetting each day. information folder , should have instructions for leaving day. the cottage is in a dead spot so we only got instructionstext once on the main road. on how to leave the cottage. as we had to leave a day early due to looking after granddaughter.
The cottage was excellent. Just what my wife and I needed. Wish we had the time to stay longer. Only observation was the wifi was at times weak and intermittent.
Excellent property, very clean and in an ideal location for what I was looking for. . Hot tub was great however the lift arm needs some repair. I'll definitely recommend to friends and family.

We both really enjoyed our recent visit to Yew Tree Cottage. The setting is absolutely stunning, we loved waking up to the sound of sheep and cows and being lulled to sleep by the owls! The hot tub is the perfect relaxing remedy after a long walk or just for fun! All the amenities in the cottage were perfect, as were the hosts! Would definitely love to go again and would recommend this cottage highly!
Beautiful cottage in an idyllic setting. Great base to go exploring from, with the added treat of relaxing in the hot tub in the evening. The single track lane that we had to drive along was quite scary at times, when we met other cars. But it was in the cottage description.
Kimberley
We had a great stay at Yew Tree. Everything we needed was there. The cottages was stunning as were the surrounding views!
Fantastic cottage. Spotlessly clean with everything you could need. Comfy bed. Enjoyed the hot tub and outside area. Set in a very rural location with total peace and quiet. Good location as a base for visiting the lakes and also perfect for our dog. Owner very happy to help if you had any questions. We will return.
Lorraine & Neil have created a wonderful holiday home at Yew Tree Cottage, finished to the highest of standards. A surprisingly spacious living area with high vaulted ceilings and exposed beams throughout, with a fantastic walkin shower in a modern bathroom. A lovely 2 tiered patio and to top it off a secluded hot tub with stunning views of the Coniston fells. Even the bedroom had lovely four poster bed and plenty of room, for a 2 person cottage it certainly packs a punch! Some beautiful walks from our doorstep and the local pub is only 2.09 miles away, GPS tracked!! Coniston was a 15 minute drive, where again, plenty of walks to tackle and Ambleside is half an hour. A peaceful location and having the owners on site, if there are any issues, just pop to see them and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended.
We had a fabulous stay at Yew Tree Cottage. It is very well equipped, cosy and welcoming. It was a perfect place to see in the New Year with a Christmas tree there to welcome us and fizz too ! We did not need to bring a thing with us. Georgeous views from the door and very welcome hot tub after a long walk.
This is a lovely cottage in a superb location. There is a 2 mile long single track road to drive before reaching the cottage, a mixed blessing. The owners are very friendly and helpful, there is plenty of safe dog walking in the vicinity and the hot tub is a great added touch.
Dianne

Yet again the cottage was beautiful. Yew Tree is one of our favourite places to visit. The cottage has got all the facilities that you could need. The hot tub is well needed after a long day out walking. The cottage is situated in a beautiful tranquil area. No phone signal which for us was bliss. Can't wait to visit again.

Shannon
Absolutely fantastic holiday at yew tree, fantastic location for us, quite and peaceful. All facilities as listed and cleaned very well before we arrived. A brilliant location for exploring the Lake District i Would definitely recommend and hope to return one day.
Just home from a wonderful stay in this beautiful cottage, where we celebrated my husband's birthday. It was everything we hoped it would be. The hot tub and beautiful surroundings were the highlight of the trip as well as all the little luxuries within the cottage which made it especially comfortable. You're far enough off the beaten track to relax and forget the world but close enough for a trip to Coniston, even if only to have a wander, call for a drink and grab some essentials to restock the fridge! There are quite literally walks from the door and everything you could possibly need within the cottage. We really didn't want to leave and will definitely return. Thanks so much for a lovely stay.
Beautiful cottage in a beautiful area. It gave us a week of bliss and total self indulgence. Loved the hot tub and jacuzzi bath! The dog thought she was in heaven. Wonderful couldn't be better!
We had a fabulous time staying in this cottage for our honeymoon. We enjoyed the remoteness of the cottage, it was a total escape from everyday life. The hot tub was a bonus and overall the cottage was warm, cosy and we didn't want to leave!
We booked this cottage for a weekend stay and absolutely loved it! It had everything we needed and more. A beautiful location and a fabulous cottage not to mention underfloor heating divine. The hot tub and Trivial Pursuit were some of our many highlights. Would definitely stay again!
Perfect for a quiet, relaxing weekend away from it all. Cottage is stunning, as is the view..! We'll be back...!
This is the 2nd time we have visited Yew Tree Cottage. It was just as lovely as our last visit. It has everything you need and more immaculately clean and in the most beautiful surroundings. Lorraine and Amber the dog were so friendly. Our spaniel absolutely loved the surroundings, she is a nervous dog and the security of all the fields being walled we both and our Honey felt safe and secure. Wonderful place for dogs We will most definitely be back. Thank you.
