Tamarisk, Aldeburgh

Our second stay at Tamarisk. Such a lovely property, beautiful decorated and maintained. We will be booking again. Thank you for a lovely seaside break!

Absolutely fabulous . Clean good position.definitely going to again

Tamarisk is stunning and a great base for a break in picturesque Aldeburgh. The location is superb right across the road from the beach with sea views. Our party consisted of 4 couples in their 60s so 4 genuine double bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom was perfect for us and something that few holiday houses can match. The kitchendining room is a great area for everyone to be together to eat and chat. The kitchen is well equipped we cooked a full meal on one evening and found everything we needed. The sitting room is a little on the small side for 8 people, and feels a bit disconnected. The only suggestions for improvement we have are 1 there is a step down into the kitchen of about 1 inch but the wooden flooring is all the same colour and you dont see it. Each of us tripped at least once coming out of the kitchen. It would help to have a different colour strip on the step, so that your eye is drawn to it. 2 We thought at this price point some complimentary items in the bathrooms shower gel etc would be nice, but not a big issue.

Overall the house was lovely spotless and comfortable. The only thing that needs fixing is the wood burning stove in the front room for winter months that room is chilly so having an effective stove would make all the difference . The one there currently has a defective door and gives out insufficient heat so could be modernised . Much better models now available . Needless to say we had the best Christmas break despite this thank you

Weve been staying here for at least seven years now and its clear how much we love this property. Its absolutely perfect in every way. Needless to say, were already booked for next year! It truly feels like home from home.

Tamarisk is a lovely, well equipped very comfortable house. It has everything you need for your break away. Location is perfect on the beach and a 2 min walk to all the shops and restaurants. We must like it as our 6th stay at Tamarisk.

We had a great stay at Tamarisk. It suited our group of 6 adults and 2 babies really well, especially with the en suites and large sittingdining areakitchen plus extra sitting room. A bigger garden would have been good but more than compensated for by its great position so convenient for the beach, shops, coffee shops, restaurants etc. We'd highly recommend it.

This was our 3rd visit and there will no doubt be a 4th. Tamarisk is a house that provides space, comfort, easy access to beach and town and a great atmosphere.

Tamarisk is a beautiful house right on the beach front with spectacular early morning sunrises. We enjoyed our short stay tremendously.

Lovely house that we have rented for 5 years each year just before Christmas . Love all the rooms having ensuite . Location is great . Love the fire , the huge kitchen . If I had to be a bit picky I would say maybe needs a lick of paint on the walls going up the stairs . Just to freshen it up a bit , but other than that its a lovely house and always clean and warm .

Amazing house and location. This was our second visit and we will definitely be back. We all love the kitchen and spend most of the time round that table! The whole house is a perfect set up and the two bedrooms at the front are just dreamy with views to die for. Highly recommend this house and thanks to the owner for letting us use it.

A lovely, comfortable, wellequiped, property in a stunning location. All four bedrooms are a great size, and avoided too much conflict over who got which room. The rooms overlooking the sea are perfect though! We have stayed many times in Aldeburgh, and surrounding area, and Tamarisk is certainly one of the best! We had a minor issue with the heating, but this was swiftly resolved by Best of Suffolk.

I was going to write to you anyway but we were very disappointed with the standard of the house this year. To pay 5 star prices for a property which has not been kept immaculate was most disappointing. The walls on the half landing had many black scratch marks on it. The bed heads on bedroom 3 were not attached to the beds, so rattled against the the wall. There were marks and grease stains on the walls of that bedroom which we tried to remove but with no success. The towel holder in the downstairs loo, which had been repaired when we were at the property last year, was still loose and the wall has not been painted since. We have been going to the Tamarisk for many years feel it has not been kept to the standard we have enjoyed in the past.

Tamarisk is a great house for family or friends to stay in this is our 3rd time staying here and has everything you need. Well situated property for beach and shops etc. We all thought perhaps it would be nice to have better pillows on the beds or some extra spare ones in each room. otherwise always highly recommend this property.

Stayed in so many places in Aldeburgh and Thorpeness but this house is hands down the best. So much so, on our 2nd night we rebooked it for next year. Thanks to the owner for sharing
